Shire Agricultural Technical Vocational Education and Training College (SATVETC) was established in 2002 G.C. at Selekleka, but now has been transferred to Shire Endaslasie town. It serves for three zones and twenty-four districts which have good agricultural potentials such as huge arable land availability, particularly for crop production (sesame, sorghum and cotton), livestock (Begait breeds for goat, sheep and cattle), fruits (banana and mango in the Tekeze belt). In addition, the Welkayit Sugar Development Project, the Baeker integrated agro-processing industrial park and the Kafta Sheraro national park are all in need of the skilled man power trained by the College.

Shire ATVET College contributes to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country by providing low and middle skilled and trained man power who will contribute in the transforming agenda of the country, particularly in Tigray region.
